Martika is 6 and her older brother Jamie is living with a brain tumour and had done since he was 5.  He has to undergo tons of treatment in Manchester and as a result most of mum and dad's time is taken up with looking after Jamie.  Martika never complains about all this attention and is a bright, cheerful young lady who cheers everyone up when they are feeling low.

Martika has asked if she can be a Princess but as it is so cold at the moment and she won't be able to show off her Princess dress in all its full glory if she has to wear a coat - sensibly, Martika has decided to wait till the spring.

Amy is 15 and has been on the young carers' project for some time.  She has a significant caring role for her brother.  Recently she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which has affected Amy a lot and she has had to change schools.  She's been through lot recently so was nominated for a 'smile'.  Amy hasn't decided what she would like to do so we will wait and see.............

Amy has asked of its possible to go and meet some of the young actors in Coronation Street .................

 It looks like we don't have any  'smiles waiting'.  It's true we don't have many at the moment BUT sometimes we meet youngsters who prefer not to be included on our website.  It's always the youngsters' decision to be included.  So please don't think we are sitting round watching tv and waiting for something to do - occasionally we do our work very quietly!!
